We are currently seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable A Level Criminology Tutor to provide 1:1 support to a student in Northamptonshire. This role involves delivering personalised tuition to help a learner build confidence, improve their understanding of criminological concepts, and develop the skills needed to succeed in their A Level studies.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Criminology graduate, experienced tutor, teacher, or education professional who enjoys helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.
What Does an A Level Criminology Tutor Role Involve?
Delivering approximately 8 hours of 1:1 A Level Criminology tuition per week
Planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to the student's individual learning needs and academic goals
Supporting students with key A Level Criminology topics, including crime and deviance, criminological theories, social factors affecting crime, crime prevention, punishment, and the criminal justice system
Helping students develop exam technique, essay writing skills, evaluation skills, and effective revision strategies
Explaining complex theories and concepts in a clear and accessible way
Building a positive and encouraging relationship to increase confidence and engagement with the subject
Identifying areas for development and adapting sessions to support academic progress
Completing brief session reports to monitor learning outcomes and progress

Who We're Looking For:
Strong subject knowledge of A Level Criminology
Experience supporting young people through tutoring, mentoring, teaching, or educational support roles
A degree or academic background in Criminology, Sociology, Psychology, Law, or a related subject is desirable
A patient, motivating, and adaptable approach to supporting learners
Confidence delivering personalised 1:1 tuition and adapting teaching approaches to individual needs
Strong communication skills and the ability to encourage student engagement
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
