Pastoral Support Officer
Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire
Contract: Full-time

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom, building positive relationships and helping students to achieve their full potential.

The Role:

  • Providing pastoral support to students across the school.

  • Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.

  • Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging engagement in learning.

  • Working closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support student wellbeing.

  • Monitoring attendance, punctuality, and student welfare.

  • Supporting students through interventions and mentoring programmes.

  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has experience working with children or young people in an educational, youth work, mentoring, support, or care setting.

  • Has strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Is patient, resilient, and able to remain calm under pressure.

  • Has a genuine passion for supporting young people to succeed.

  • Can effectively manage challenging behaviour and support students with additional needs.

  • Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one through Tradewind Recruitment.
