  • Supporting students who may experience anxiety, frustration or difficulties managing their emotions.

  • Encouraging communication, social interaction and the development of positive relationships.

  • Helping students build confidence, independence and essential life skills.

  • Following individual learning plans, behaviour support plans and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), where applicable.

  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and other education professionals.

  • Maintaining a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment.

  • Promoting student wellbeing and following safeguarding procedures.

  • Understand that some students may require additional time, repetition or adapted communication to process information.

  • Have experience supporting individuals with behaviours that challenge, or are willing to develop their skills in this area.

  • Can remain calm, patient and supportive when working with students who may struggle with emotional regulation.

  • Are confident building positive and trusting relationships with children and young people.

  • Can adapt their communication and support strategies to meet individual needs.

  • Are passionate about promoting inclusion, independence and personal development.

  • Have strong teamwork and communication skills.

  • Understand the importance of safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries.
