Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and dedicated Science Teacher to work within a secondary school in the Wellingborough area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Science Teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) who is passionate about inspiring young people and helping them develop a love for Science.

We are looking for a teacher who can deliver engaging and practical lessons, encourage curiosity and critical thinking, and create a positive learning environment where students of all abilities can achieve their potential.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, covering Biology, Chemistry and Physics, while supporting students with their academic progress and preparation for GCSE examinations.

The Role

As a Science Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

• Teaching Biology, Chemistry and Physics in line with the national curriculum.

• Preparing students for GCSE Science examinations.

• Delivering practical experiments and demonstrations safely and effectively.

• Encouraging scientific curiosity, problem-solving and analytical thinking.

• Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and additional learning needs.

• Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.

• Identifying areas where students may need additional support and implementing appropriate interventions.

• Maintaining positive classroom behaviour and high expectations.

• Creating an inclusive, supportive and engaging classroom environment.

• Working collaboratively with the Science department and wider school team.

• Contributing to departmental planning and the development of teaching resources.

• Following school safeguarding policies and health and safety procedures.

What Are We Looking For?

We would love to hear from candidates who:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate recognised teaching qualification.

• Have experience teaching Science within a secondary school setting.

• Have strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics.

• Are confident delivering Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

• Can plan engaging, differentiated lessons that support students of all abilities.

• Have effective classroom and behaviour management skills.

• Are enthusiastic about practical Science and inspiring young people.

• Can build positive relationships with students and colleagues.

• Have excellent communication and organisational skills.

• Are reliable, adaptable and committed to student achievement.

• Have a genuine passion for education and helping young people succeed.
