We are supporting a well-resourced secondary school in Northampton seeking a part-time Design Technology teacher to join their team from March 2026 on a temporary basis until July 2026. In this role, you'll deliver engaging, hands-on lessons across a range of DT subjects, helping students develop practical skills, design thinking, and confidence.

Your Role:

  • Deliver inspiring DT lessons across KS3 and KS4 in a variety of disciplines

  • Support students in developing creativity, technical skills, and independent thinking

  • Maintain a safe, organised, and stimulating classroom or workshop environment

  • Encourage curiosity, confidence, and pride in students' work

  • Collaborate with DT colleagues on lesson planning and enrichment projects

  • Help students translate ideas into practical outcomes and real-world solutions

We're Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification

  • Experience teaching Design Technology in a secondary school setting

  • Confidence delivering lessons in one or more DT disciplines (Product Design, Food, Textiles, Graphics, etc.)

  • Strong classroom management, organisation, and communication skills

  • Passion for creativity, practical learning, and inspiring students

  • Flexible and collaborative approach to working within a supportive department
