Location: Blackpool, Lancashire (FY1 - FY4 area) Salary: £103.83 per day (Dependent on experience) Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term / Temp to Perm Start Date: ASAP

The Role: Leading the Classroom

Are you a confident communicator looking for a career change? Do you have the "presence" to lead a room and the empathy to support young people? We are seeking individuals with transferable skills to join our Blackpool Secondary School as a Cover Supervisor.

In this role, you won't be expected to plan lessons or mark homework. Your mission is to manage the classroom environment, ensuring students stay on task and follow the work set by the absent teacher. This is a high-impact, long-term position that is perfect for those who thrive in fast-paced, people-focused environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Classroom Management: Deliver pre-planned lessons to groups of 25-30 students, maintaining a calm and productive atmosphere.

  • Behaviour Support: Use your life experience and "Blackpool grit" to de-escalate tension and implement the school's behaviour policy.

  • Relationship Building: Act as a positive role model for secondary-aged students (11-16) with diverse needs, including SEND and SEMH.

  • Daily Leadership: Ensure every pupil feels safe and supported while their regular teacher is away.
