We are working with a well-regarded secondary school in Northampton seeking a committed Science Lecturer to join their team. This role mirrors that of a classroom Science Teacher, involving full teaching responsibilities across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential KS5), making it ideal for qualified teachers as well as lecturers or industry professionals looking to transition into schools.

The Role

As a Science Lecturer in this setting, you will:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Science lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 opportunities may be available)
  • Teach your specialism - Biology, Chemistry, or Physics - within a broad and balanced Science curriculum
  • Create an engaging classroom environment that supports learning and curiosity
  • Differentiate lessons to support students of all abilities, including those with SEND
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school expectations
  • Contribute to departmental planning, schemes of work, and enrichment activities such as STEM clubs

The Ideal Candidate

You will:

  • Hold a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTLS, Cert Ed, or equivalent), although this is not essential
  • Have a degree in a Science-related subject
  • Have experience delivering Science in a structured learning environment (school, FE, or industry training settings)
  • Demonstrate strong classroom or group management skills and the ability to engage learners
  • Be passionate about Science education and supporting student progress
  • Be adaptable, proactive, and able to work effectively within a school team
