We're working with a well-regarded secondary school in Northampton that is seeking to appoint a Maths Lecturer from June or September 2026. This is a strong opportunity to join a school that values clear, structured teaching, strong subject knowledge, and a calm, consistent approach to supporting students in Maths. No QTS is required for this role.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative Maths department with a clear focus on raising attainment, improving confidence in numeracy, and ensuring students are well prepared for exams and future study or careers involving Maths.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Delivering GCSE and/or A-Level Maths lessons across KS4 and KS5
  • Teaching key curriculum areas including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, and calculus
  • Planning and delivering well-structured lessons that support progress for all learners
  • Using assessment effectively to track progress and identify gaps in understanding
  • Providing targeted support for students who are struggling, as well as extension work for higher achievers
  • Helping prepare students for exams through revision sessions and structured intervention where needed
  • Contributing to departmental planning, schemes of work, and shared resources
  • Supporting the wider school ethos of high expectations and consistent behaviour for learning

Who We're Looking For:

  • A strong Maths degree or relevant lecturing/teaching experience
  • Experience teaching or supporting Maths at secondary level (schools, colleges, or tutoring considered)
  • Confident classroom presence with the ability to manage groups effectively
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain concepts clearly and simply
  • A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching
  • A genuine interest in helping students improve their confidence and achievement in Maths
  • ECTs or those new to school-based teaching are welcome to apply, with support provided
