Religious Education Teacher

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Religious Education lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 for suitable candidates.

  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages discussion, critical thinking, and respect for diverse perspectives.

  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school policies.

  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND and additional learning needs.

  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement, and engagement.

  • Contribute positively to the Humanities department and wider school community.

  • Attend parents' evenings, departmental meetings, and school events as required.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Experience teaching Religious Education within a secondary school setting.

  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for encouraging thoughtful discussion and debate.

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

  • The ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
