We are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Kettering that is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Primary School Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026 on a permanent, full-time basis.

The Role

  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative lessons across the primary curriculum

  • Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, including children with additional learning needs (SEND)

  • Supporting early reading, phonics, writing, and numeracy development

  • Helping pupils remain focused, motivated, and engaged throughout the school day

  • Promoting positive behaviour and contributing to a calm, safe, and supportive classroom environment

  • Assisting with targeted interventions to help pupils make progress

  • Encouraging confidence, independence, and a love of learning in young children

  • Providing guidance and support to help pupils achieve their personal and academic goals

  • Works well as part of a team and can show initiative when required

  • Has experience working with children (education, nursery, childcare, care, youth work, coaching, or similar - desirable but not essential)
