Learning Support Assistant - Primary School - Kettering

We are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Kettering that is seeking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September 2026 on a permanent, full-time basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and wants to play a key role in creating a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

The Role

  • Supporting pupils across the primary curriculum both in the classroom and through targeted support activities

  • Working with children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, including pupils with additional learning needs (SEND)

  • Supporting pupils with their learning, confidence, communication, and independence

  • Assisting with reading, phonics, writing, and numeracy activities

  • Helping children access lessons and fully participate in classroom activities

  • Supporting pupils with emotional, social, and behavioural needs where required

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and helping to maintain a safe, calm, and inclusive classroom environment

  • Working alongside teachers and other professionals to support pupil progress

  • Providing encouragement and reassurance to help children achieve their individual goals

  • Works well as part of a team and can use their own initiative when required

  • Has experience working with children (education, nursery, childcare, care, youth work, coaching, or similar - desirable but not essential)
