Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Location: Corby
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming secondary school in the Corby area. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident HLTA who is passionate about supporting students' learning and making a positive impact across the school.

About the Role

As an HLTA, you will work closely with teaching staff to support learning across a range of subjects. You will deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of teachers, provide targeted interventions for individuals and small groups, and help ensure all students receive the support they need to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 when required.

  • Provide intervention sessions to support students' academic progress.

  • Support teachers with lesson preparation and classroom activities.

  • Work with students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.

  • Promote positive behaviour and maintain an inclusive learning environment.

  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • HLTA qualification or significant experience in a similar role.

  • Experience working within a secondary school setting.

  • Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.

  • Strong communication and organisational abilities.

  • The confidence to lead whole-class learning when required.

  • A flexible, proactive, and positive approach to supporting students.
