We are working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Corby that is seeking a dedicated Learning Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for an enthusiastic and caring individual who is committed to making a positive impact on pupils' learning and development.
The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and the wider school team to provide high-quality classroom support, helping pupils engage with learning, build confidence, and achieve their individual goals.
About the Role:
As a Learning Assistant, you will support teaching and learning across the classroom, working with individual pupils, small groups, and occasionally providing one-to-one support where required. You will help create an inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environment, encouraging pupils to develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting pupils within the classroom to access learning and achieve their potential
Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and deliver targeted interventions
Assisting the class teacher in preparing learning resources and classroom activities
Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupil engagement and independence
Supporting pupils with varying learning needs, adapting your approach where appropriate
Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
Assisting with classroom organisation and daily routines
Who We're Looking For:
Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable
Experience working with children in a primary school setting
A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach to supporting learning
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team
A flexible and proactive attitude
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Passionate about helping every child achieve their full potential
