Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a resilient and confident SEMH Cover Supervisor to join a specialist school in the Corby area.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs who is looking to make a genuine difference within a rewarding educational setting.

The successful candidate will be confident leading groups, delivering pre-planned lessons and activities, and building positive relationships with students who may require additional behavioural, emotional or pastoral support.

The Role

As an SEMH Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the teacher while ensuring students remain engaged, supported and focused on their learning.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering pre-planned lessons and learning activities across a range of subjects

• Supervising classes and maintaining a positive learning environment

• Supporting students with SEMH needs and barriers to learning

• Building strong, professional relationships with students

• Managing behaviour using consistent and positive strategies

• Supporting students with emotional regulation and engagement

• Encouraging positive attitudes towards learning and personal development

• Working closely with teachers, pastoral teams and support staff

• Providing feedback on student progress, engagement and behaviour

• Promoting a safe, structured and supportive environment

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with young people with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges or additional support needs

• Is confident leading groups and delivering learning activities or interventions

• Can build positive relationships with students whilst maintaining clear boundaries

• Remains calm, resilient and professional in challenging situations

• Has excellent communication and behaviour management skills

• Is passionate about supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes
