Teaching Assistant (Mental Health Support)
Location: Corby, Northamptonshire
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time / Long-term
Salary: £90-£95 Per Day
Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a welcoming and inclusive school in Corby that is seeking a Teaching Assistant with strong mental health awareness to support pupils with emotional, behavioural, and social needs.
This role is ideal for a compassionate and resilient individual who is passionate about supporting young people's mental health and wellbeing within an educational setting.
The Role:
Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with mental health and SEMH needs
Supporting students with anxiety, emotional regulation, and behavioural challenges
Assisting the class teacher with behaviour management and engagement strategies
Promoting positive mental health, resilience, and self-confidence
Working closely with SENCOs, pastoral teams, and external professionals
Helping to create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
The Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with children or young people with mental health or SEMH needs
A background in psychology, counselling, youth work, mental health support, or similar (desirable)
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A genuine commitment to supporting students' wellbeing and development
