Humanities Teacher Required - SEMH School Opportunity

The Role

This position involves teaching Humanities subjects such as History, Geography, and Religious Studies to pupils who may have faced challenges in mainstream education. Many learners within SEMH settings benefit from a personalised approach, strong routines, and a calm, consistent teaching style.

You will be responsible for:

  • Planning and delivering creative Humanities lessons tailored to individual needs

  • Supporting students with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies

  • Creating a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment

  • Working closely with support staff, therapists, and pastoral teams

  • Helping students re-engage with education and achieve meaningful progress

The Ideal Candidate

To be considered, you must have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)

  • Strong experience teaching Humanities

  • Previous experience working in an SEMH school or specialist provision

  • Excellent behaviour management and relationship-building skills

  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to teaching
