Science Laboratory Technician - Full-Time Role (College Setting)

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Science Laboratory Technician to join a thriving and supportive college environment on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician with proven experience working in an educational science laboratory, who is looking for a stable and rewarding role within further education.

As a Science Lab Technician, you will play a vital part in supporting the delivery of engaging and practical science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. The successful candidate will have previous experience working in a school or college laboratory and will be confident in preparing equipment, maintaining safe working environments, and assisting teaching staff with practical demonstrations and experiments.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Preparing, setting up, and clearing away laboratory equipment for practical sessions

  • Ensuring all chemicals, materials, and apparatus are safely stored and maintained

  • Supporting teaching staff and students during science experiments and investigations

  • Carrying out regular health and safety checks in line with CLEAPSS and college policies

  • Managing stock control, ordering supplies, and maintaining accurate lab records

  • Assisting with the overall smooth running of the science department

Candidate Requirements:

  • Essential: Previous experience as a Science Laboratory Technician in a school or college setting

  • Strong knowledge of laboratory health and safety procedures

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider science department team

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

  • A proactive and professional approach to supporting science education
