Unqualified Maths Teacher - Secondary School
Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire
Start Date: February or April 2026
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term (with potential to become permanent)
Salary: £100-£160 per day (depending on experience and level of school support)

We are working with a number of welcoming and inclusive secondary schools across Northampton who are seeking enthusiastic Unqualified Maths Teachers to join their teams from February or April 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for Maths graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals with strong subject knowledge looking to gain hands-on classroom experience in a supportive environment.

Your Role:

  • Deliver engaging and well-structured Maths lessons to KS3 and KS4 students

  • Support pupils in developing confidence, understanding, and enjoyment of Mathematics

  • Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment

  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet a range of learning needs and abilities

  • Work collaboratively with qualified teachers and mentors to plan and refine lessons

  • Take part in ongoing professional development and contribute to wider school life

What We're Looking For:

  • A degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject, or strong subject knowledge

  • Experience working with young people (tutoring, mentoring, coaching, or classroom support - desirable but not essential)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Confidence, organisation, and a proactive attitude

  • A genuine passion for education and willingness to develop professionally

  • An interest in progressing to formal teacher training routes (PGCE, SCITT, apprenticeship)

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
