Job Description
Humanities Teacher - Alternative Provision
Northampton
Immediate Start
Temp to Perm Opportunity
Secondary Age Students
Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a passionate and resilient Humanities Teacher to work within an Alternative Provision setting in Northampton. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with an immediate start, supporting secondary-aged students who require a more tailored and nurturing educational environment.
This is a rewarding role for a qualified teacher who is confident delivering Humanities (History, Geography and/or RE) to KS3 and KS4 students. The school supports pupils who may have experienced barriers to mainstream education, including SEMH needs, behavioural challenges or disrupted learning. Small class sizes allow for a more personalised approach, with a strong emphasis on engagement, relationship-building and restorative practice.
The successful candidate must hold a recognised teaching qualification (QTS, QTLS or equivalent) and have experience teaching Humanities at secondary level. Experience working within Alternative Provision, PRU or SEN settings is highly desirable, though strong mainstream teachers with excellent behaviour management skills are encouraged to apply.
Key responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated Humanities lessons
Supporting students with varying academic levels and social/emotional needs
Implementing behaviour management strategies consistently and positively
Working collaboratively with pastoral teams and senior leaders
Tracking and monitoring student progress
In return, Tradewind Recruitment offer:
A supportive and experienced consultant
Competitive daily rates
Opportunity to secure a permanent contract
Access to CPD and professional development
If you are a committed Humanities Teacher looking to make a real impact in a specialist setting, we would love to hear from you.
