Job Description

Science Teacher - Alternative Provision
Northampton
Immediate Start
Temp to Perm Opportunity
Secondary Age Students

Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient Science Teacher to work within an Alternative Provision setting in Northampton. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with an immediate start, supporting secondary-aged students who thrive in smaller, more structured learning environments.

This role is ideal for a qualified teacher who is confident delivering Science across KS3 and KS4 (Biology, Chemistry and General Science). The school supports pupils who may have faced barriers in mainstream education, including SEMH needs, behavioural challenges or gaps in learning. Class sizes are small, allowing you to build strong relationships and adapt lessons to meet individual needs, with a clear focus on re-engagement and progress.

The successful candidate must hold a recognised teaching qualification (QTS, QTLS or equivalent) and have experience teaching Science at secondary level. Previous experience in Alternative Provision, PRU or SEN settings is desirable; however, teachers with strong behaviour management skills and a genuine passion for inclusive education are encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated Science lessons

  • Adapting content to meet a range of academic abilities and additional needs

  • Using positive behaviour strategies to maintain a safe learning environment

  • Monitoring and tracking student progress

  • Working collaboratively with pastoral and senior leadership teams

In return, Tradewind Recruitment offer:

  • Competitive daily pay rates

  • Ongoing CPD and training opportunities

  • A supportive, dedicated consultant

  • The opportunity to secure a permanent contract

If you are a motivated Science Teacher looking to make a meaningful impact within a specialist setting, we would love to hear from you.
