Electrical Engineer

We are working in partnership with a forward-thinking college in Northamptonshire to recruit an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Electrical Engineer to join their teaching team from March 2026. This is a full-time opportunity, available on either a permanent or long-term contract, depending on your preference.
The Role:
As an Electrical Engineer in a teaching role, you will deliver high-quality lessons across Level 2 and Level 3 programmes, combining technical knowledge with practical, workshop-based learning.
Your responsibilities will include:
Planning and delivering engaging Electrical Engineering lessons aligned with curriculum and awarding body standards
Teaching key topics such as electrical principles, installation, fault finding, control systems, and health & safety
Supporting students in developing practical skills and confidence within workshop environments
Assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and tracking achievement
Adapting lessons to meet a range of abilities and learning needs
Contributing to curriculum development and ongoing improvement within the department
Supporting enrichment activities, employer engagement, and work placement opportunities
About You:
A qualified teacher (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) or willing to work towards a teaching qualification
Strong background in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Installation
Relevant industry experience in electrical engineering or electrical installation
Confident delivering both theory-based and practical lessons
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Collaborative, proactive, and committed to supporting learner progress
