English Teacher - Maternity Cover

The Role:
As an English Teacher covering maternity leave, you will deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, combining engaging teaching with classroom management and student support.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging English lessons aligned with curriculum requirements

  • Teaching key areas such as reading, writing, grammar, literature, and exam preparation

  • Supporting students to develop confidence, skills, and enjoyment in English

  • Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a purposeful learning environment

About You:

  • Qualified teacher (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent) or working towards qualification

  • Strong subject knowledge in English and familiarity with curriculum requirements

  • Experience working with young people in a classroom or educational setting

  • Confident, adaptable, and able to manage classroom behaviour effectively

  • Enthusiastic, professional, and committed to student progress
