Food Technology Teacher - Special Needs Schools (Northamptonshire & Surrounding Areas)

Are you a passionate and creative Food Technology Teacher looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people? We are currently recruiting for a dedicated Food Tech Teacher to work across a range of special educational needs (SEN) schools in Northamptonshire and the surrounding areas.

This is a fantastic opportunity to use your subject expertise to support students with a variety of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. You will play a key role in helping students develop essential life skills, independence, and confidence through engaging and practical food technology lessons.

Working in specialist settings, you will be responsible for planning and delivering inclusive, hands-on lessons tailored to meet individual learning needs. You will create a safe, supportive, and structured environment where all students can access the curriculum and enjoy learning. Flexibility, patience, and creativity are essential in adapting lessons and approaches to suit a diverse range of abilities.

These roles are available across a variety of client schools of Tradewind Recruitment, offering you the chance to gain valuable experience in different SEN environments. Placements are available across Northamptonshire and nearby areas, giving you flexibility and variety in your work.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering engaging Food Technology lessons tailored to SEN students
• Supporting the development of practical cooking and life skills
• Managing behaviour positively and effectively
• Adapting resources and teaching methods to meet individual needs
• Working collaboratively with support staff and other professionals

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
• Have experience working with SEN students (desirable but not essential)
• Be patient, adaptable, and passionate about inclusive education
• Have strong classroom management and communication skills
