Teacher of English - Northampton
Start Date: June or September 2026 | Full-Time | Permanent (Long-Term Supply Available if Preferred)

We are working in partnership with a welcoming and progressive secondary school in Northampton to recruit a committed Teacher of English from June or September 2026. This position is ideally permanent, although long-term supply options are available for candidates seeking greater flexibility.

About the Role:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4 (with KS5 opportunities in some settings)
  • Encourage a love of reading, writing, and critical thinking
  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of students of varying abilities
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, assessment, and tracking pupil progress
  • Get involved in enrichment opportunities such as literacy initiatives and school events
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within a supportive English department

We're Looking For:

  • Qualified teacher with QTS/QTLS (or equivalent) in English
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English Language and Literature
  • An engaging and reflective practitioner who motivates students
  • High expectations for behaviour and academic success
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • ECTs are encouraged to apply, with full support and mentoring available
