We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated graduates to join our school as Graduate Teacher Trainees, supporting learning through a combination of Teaching Assistant and Cover Supervisor responsibilities while developing the skills and experience needed to progress onto SCITT teacher training and achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

The Role

As a Graduate Teacher Trainee, you will:

  • Support students in lessons as a Teaching Assistant, working 1:1, in small groups and within whole-class settings

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons and supervise classes in the absence of teachers as a Cover Supervisor

  • Gain practical classroom experience across a range of subjects and year groups

  • Support student progress, engagement and behaviour for learning

  • Work alongside experienced teachers and receive mentoring and guidance

  • Develop your understanding of teaching, curriculum delivery and classroom management

  • Build experience to support a future application onto a SCITT programme

Who We Are Looking For

We welcome applications from graduates who:

  • Hold a degree in any subject (core subjects especially welcomed)

  • Are considering a career in teaching and want to work towards QTS

  • Are keen to gain hands-on school experience before teacher training

  • Have strong communication skills and confidence working with young people

  • Are proactive, adaptable and eager to learn

  • Have experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential)
