A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Milton Keynes is looking to appoint a committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join its dedicated support team from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside experienced teachers and SEND professionals, supporting children with a range of additional needs in a caring, well-resourced environment where every child is encouraged to succeed.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you'll play an important part in helping pupils access learning and build the confidence they need to flourish both inside and outside the classroom.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND

  • Supporting children with a range of needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties

  • Working alongside class teachers to adapt activities and ensure lessons are accessible for all learners

  • Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and social development

  • Supporting pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and daily classroom routines

  • Assisting with intervention programmes designed to improve literacy, numeracy, and social skills

  • Working closely with the school's SENDCo, teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to support pupil progress

  • Helping to create a positive, inclusive classroom where every child feels safe, valued, and able to achieve

We're Looking For Someone Who

  • Is patient, caring, and able to build positive relationships with children

  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Can remain calm and adaptable in a busy classroom environment

  • Is proactive and willing to use initiative when supporting pupils

  • Has experience working with children in schools, nurseries, childcare, youth work, or care settings (desirable but not essential)

  • Has a genuine commitment to supporting children with additional needs

  • Is eligible to work in the UK and willing to complete an enhanced DBS check
