The Roles

Science Teacher

As a Science Teacher, your responsibilities may include:

• Planning and delivering engaging Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

• Teaching Biology, Chemistry and Physics in line with the national curriculum.

• Preparing students for GCSE Science examinations.

• Delivering practical experiments and demonstrations safely and effectively.

• Encouraging scientific curiosity, problem-solving and analytical thinking.

• Adapting lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and additional learning needs.

• Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.

• Creating a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environment.

• Maintaining effective classroom behaviour management.

• Working collaboratively with the Science department and wider school team.

PE Teacher

As a PE Teacher, your responsibilities may include:

• Planning and delivering engaging Physical Education lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

• Teaching a variety of sports and physical activities, including team sports, athletics, fitness and individual activities.

• Encouraging students to develop physical fitness, teamwork, resilience and confidence.

• Promoting healthy lifestyles and the importance of physical activity.

• Adapting activities to ensure students of all abilities can participate and progress.

• Supporting students studying GCSE PE where required.

• Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.

• Maintaining a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.

• Managing behaviour effectively during practical and classroom-based lessons.

• Supporting extracurricular sports clubs, competitions and school events where appropriate.

• Working collaboratively with the PE department and wider school team.

What Are We Looking For?

We would love to hear from candidates who:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate recognised teaching qualification.

• Have experience teaching Science or PE within a secondary school setting.

• Have strong subject knowledge in their specialist area.

• Are confident delivering lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

• Can plan engaging and differentiated lessons that support students of all abilities.

• Have effective classroom and behaviour management skills.

• Can build positive relationships with students and colleagues.

• Have excellent communication and organisational skills.

• Are reliable, adaptable and committed to student achievement.

• Have a genuine passion for education and supporting young people.
