Working alongside the class teacher and SENCO, you will provide tailored support to pupils, helping them access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their individual goals throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with special educational needs
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil requirements
- Encourage pupils to participate in lessons and develop their independence
- Support children with their social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider SEND team
- Monitor pupil engagement and share progress with teaching staff
- Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable
- Understanding of SEND and inclusive classroom practice
- Calm, patient, and compassionate approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
- Flexible and proactive attitude towards supporting learning
- Genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to education
