This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher with a passion for sport, dance, physical education, and pupil development. The successful candidate will play an important role in delivering high-quality PE and Dance lessons across the school, encouraging pupils to develop confidence and teamwork, and contributing to the wider sporting, performing arts, and extracurricular life of the school.

Role Highlights:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and high-quality PE and Dance lessons across Primary and Secondary phases

  • Inspire pupils of different ages and abilities to develop a lifelong love of physical activity, sport, movement, and performance

  • Deliver a broad and engaging programme of PE and Dance activities appropriate to pupils' age, ability, and stage of development

  • Create a positive, inclusive, and energetic learning environment where all pupils feel encouraged to participate

  • Adapt teaching and learning to meet the needs, abilities, and interests of individual pupils

  • Develop pupils' physical skills, coordination, fitness, teamwork, confidence, and resilience

  • Deliver Dance lessons that encourage creativity, self-expression, rhythm, coordination, choreography, and performance

  • Prepare pupils for performances, showcases, competitions, fixtures, and school events

  • Support and develop extracurricular sports and dance clubs across the school

  • Contribute to the school's sporting fixtures, competitions, enrichment programme, and wider extracurricular activities

  • Encourage pupils to develop confidence, resilience, teamwork, leadership, independence, and sportsmanship

  • Build strong and positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues

  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing constructive feedback and appropriate challenge

  • Promote high standards of behaviour, effort, participation, and achievement

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across both Primary and Secondary phases

  • Contribute fully to the wider life and community of the school

About You:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate teaching qualification

  • Have experience teaching PE, Dance, or both within a primary, secondary, all-through, or independent school setting

  • Have a genuine passion for sport, dance, physical education, and working with children and young people

  • Be confident delivering engaging lessons across different age groups and abilities

  • Have strong classroom and behaviour management skills

  • Be able to inspire pupils and encourage participation, confidence, and enjoyment

  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Be creative, enthusiastic, energetic, and well organised

  • Be committed to providing an inclusive environment where every pupil can participate and achieve

  • Be willing to contribute to extracurricular clubs, fixtures, performances, and school events

  • Have high expectations of pupil behaviour, effort, and achievement

  • Be adaptable and comfortable working across both Primary and Secondary phases

  • Be reliable and keen to build a positive long-term relationship with the school

  • Share a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
