Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to work within a secondary school in the Wellingborough area.

We are looking for a teacher who has a genuine passion for English Language and Literature and can inspire students to develop their reading, writing, communication and analytical skills.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced English Teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to develop their teaching experience within a supportive secondary school environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and inclusive English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students of all abilities develop confidence, make progress and achieve their potential.

The Role

As an English Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging English Language and Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4.

  • Teaching a range of literary texts, including novels, poetry, plays and Shakespeare.

  • Preparing students for GCSE English Language and Literature examinations.

  • Developing students' reading comprehension, creative writing and analytical skills.

  • Encouraging students to express their ideas confidently through written and verbal communication.

  • Adapting teaching methods to meet the needs of students with different abilities and learning styles.

  • Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.

  • Supporting students who may require additional guidance with literacy and English.

  • Creating a positive, inclusive and productive classroom environment.

  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies.

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues within the English department.

  • Encouraging a love of reading, literature and creative expression.

What Are We Looking For?

We would love to hear from candidates who:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Have experience teaching English within a secondary school environment, including relevant teaching placements.

  • Have strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.

  • Are confident delivering English lessons across KS3 and KS4.

  • Have a good understanding of GCSE English requirements.

  • Can plan and deliver engaging lessons that support students of different abilities.

  • Have strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • Are enthusiastic, adaptable and committed to supporting student progress.

  • Have excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • Are passionate about helping young people develop confidence in English.
