Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and qualified English Teacher to join a secondary school in the Milton Keynes area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced English Teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) who is passionate about inspiring young people and helping students develop their confidence, literacy skills and love of English.

We are looking for a teacher who can deliver engaging and creative lessons, build positive relationships with students and make a genuine difference to their academic progress.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to contribute to a supportive and collaborative English department.

The Role

As an English Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4.

  • Teaching English Language and English Literature in line with the national curriculum.

  • Preparing students for GCSE examinations and supporting their academic progress.

  • Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.

  • Adapting lessons to meet the needs of students with different abilities and learning styles.

  • Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.

  • Encouraging students to develop their reading, writing, communication and analytical skills.

  • Promoting a love of literature, creative writing and independent learning.

  • Maintaining positive behaviour and high expectations within the classroom.

  • Supporting students who require additional guidance or intervention.

  • Working collaboratively with the English department and wider teaching team.

  • Contributing to departmental planning, resources and school activities.

  • Following safeguarding procedures and promoting student wellbeing.

What Are We Looking For?

We would love to hear from candidates who:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate recognised teaching qualification.

  • Have experience teaching English within a secondary school setting.

  • Have strong subject knowledge in English Language and English Literature.

  • Are confident delivering lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

  • Can plan creative, engaging and differentiated lessons.

  • Have effective classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • Are passionate about supporting students to achieve their potential.

  • Can build positive professional relationships with students and colleagues.

  • Have excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.

  • Are enthusiastic, reliable and adaptable.
